Technical support - FliteSchool

FliteSchool is an interactive, multimedia home study course designed to help you pass the FAA knowledge tests. It's available in three versions: Private, Instrument, and Commercial.

During the installation of FliteSchool, you will be given the choice of two types of installations: Individual, or School or FBO. If you purchased FliteSchool only for your own use, please select Individual. You will not be required to enter a serial number.

If you purchased a multi-user license for FliteSchool so it can be used for a flight school or FBO, select School or FBO and enter the serial number. If no serial number was provided, please contact Jeppesen Sales Support for further assistance. The contact information for Sales Support is listed on the left side of the Contact Us Form.

When opening the FliteSchool application, you may receive a message that the version of Windows Media Player installed on your computer is not compatible with FliteSchool. Please click the CANCEL button. FliteSchool will continue to open and operate normally.

You must print the achievement record using another program.  To do this, follow the steps below:

1. Bring up the Authorization page and press the PrtScn (Print Screen) button on your keyboard.
2. Open Microsoft Paint (Start > Programs > Accessories > Paint).
3. Click on the Edit menu and then click Paste.
4. You can now print the achievement record by selecting File > Print.

This usually occurs when Windows Media Player (WMP) is not set as the default media player (ie., Nero, RealPlayer, iTunes, or other media software installed).

To resolve this, set WMP to play all media by default.

1. Open WMP and right click one time on the title bar, choose Options. (If you cannot find a link to WMP on the desktop etc., browse to \Program Files\Windows Media Player and click on wmplayer.exe.)

2. Click the File Types tab and then click Select All so that all the File Type options are checked.

3. Click Apply and OK, then restart the computer.

4. Run FliteSchool.

If this procedure does not resolve the issue, please complete all available updates from http://www.windowsupdate.com.

This is usually caused by an older version of NERO being installed.  

Please uninstall NERO or upgrade to the latest version.

If this error message appears when you start a lesson, you may not be using an operating system that is compatible with FliteSchool. Currently, FliteSchool is compatible with Windows XP (Service Pack 2) and Windows 2000 (Service Pack 3 or later). It is not compatible with Windows Vista.

1. Select Start > Programs > Jeppesen > FliteSchool > FAA Figures > PDF file.

or

1. browse to C:\Jeppesen\FliteSchool\Private\Help and click on the associated PDF file.

2. Once the PDF file is open, you can print the file.

FliteSchool is compatible with Windows XP SP2 or SP3. It is not compatible with Windows Vista at this time.
