If "connecting to 0.0.0.0:1984" is displayed when updating online, FliteDeck is unable to connect to the Jeppesen update servers. This can occur if there is no Internet connection or if another application is preventing FliteDeck from accessing the Internet.

First, please ensure you can open Internet Explorer and visit a page aside from your home page.  This will ensure you have a valid connection.  Next, make sure any Internet security or firewall applications are either configured to allow JeppView access to the Internet, or are disabled.

FliteDeck utilizes Internet ports 80 and 1984 to download the updates. It may be necessary to configure your firewall or Internet security applications so these ports are not blocked. If your network has a router, gateway, or other networking device that also functions as a firewall, it may be necessary to configure the firewall so that Internet ports 80 and 1984 are not blocked.

You can use the Jeppesen System Diagnostics Tool to test the connections to the Jeppesen update servers, as well as ports 80 and 1984. Please click on the Jeppesen System Diagnostics Tool link below to download and install it. Once you have opened the program, select JeppView3/FliteDeck3 to test the connection.

The Jeppesen Update Agent is failing, and red exclamation marks appear next to "Performing Speed Test" and "Checking for Updates".

This can occur if another application on your computer is preventing the Jeppesen Update Agent from downloading the updates. It is usually caused by the NOD32 Antivirus software. If you have the NOD32 software installed on your computer, you may need to configure it to exclude the Jeppesen Update Agent from being monitored. Please see the document below for instructions on how to add exclusions to NOD32.

The terminal charts database is either more than 10 weeks out of date or the date on the computer is not correct.
First make sure that the date on the computer is correct.
If the date is correct then open the FliteDeck3 Setup program and make sure the Terminal Charts database is current (Check the "Configuration tab" on the bottom).
If the Terminal Charts database is not current, click on "Get Update" for an online update.

close

Verify current date and time in the computer. Double-click on the clock area in the Windows Status Bar (normally at the bottom-right of the screen) and correct the computer date/time.

If the above process does not resolve the issue there may be corrupt RoutePack files in c:\Jeppesen\Common\RoutePack. Cut these files and place them on the Desktop. Restart the computer and try FliteDeck 3 again.

This problem can also be caused by a conflict between FliteDeck and the MFD shell utility by On-Board Data Systems. This utility provides a tabbed Graphic User Interface for launching EFB related applications like FliteDeck.  If you are using this utility, close out of it and try FliteDeck again.

First, ensure that the WxWorx subscription and hardware are properly set up and that weather data is being transmitted to the computer. This can be accomplished by contacting WxWorx at 1-256-319-9679 for assistance.

Once this has been completed, open FliteDeck and ensure the WX button displays “WX:On” in bold letters. Next, click the Chart Setup tab, click the Weather Options tab and ensure the desired weather options are selected.

If weather data is still not displayed, uninstall the Jeppesen Weather Service by going to the Control Panel and using the Add or Remove Programs feature (in Vista it may appear in the “Programs and Features” section. Once the Jeppesen Weather Service program has been uninstalled, reboot the computer. Next, browse to C:\Jeppesen\FliteDeck3\Utils (or the directory where the Jeppesen folder is installed) and run the JeppesenWeatherServiceSetup.exe file. Once this has been installed, open FliteDeck and the weather data should appear within 5-10 minutes.
