If "login failed while offline" is displayed when signing in, JSUM is unable to connect to the Jeppesen update servers. This can occur if there is no Internet connection or if another application is preventing JSUM from accessing the Internet.

First, please open Internet Explorer and visit a page aside from your home page. This will ensure you have a valid connection. Next, make sure any Internet security or firewall applications are either configured to allow JSUM access to the Internet, or are disabled.

To download NavData, JSUM requires an outgoing and incoming connection through Internet port 80. To download terminal chart data, JSUM requires an outgoing and incoming connection through Internet port 1984. It may be necessary to configure your firewall or Internet security applications so these ports are not blocked. If your network has a router, gateway, or other networking device that also functions as a firewall, it may be necessary to configure the firewall so that Internet ports 80 and 1984 are not blocked.

You can use the Jeppesen System Diagnostics Tool to test the connections to the Jeppesen update servers, as well as ports 80 and 1984. Please click on the Jeppesen System Diagnostics Tool link below to download and install it. Once you have opened the program, select JSUM to test the connection.
