Course Description

Audience
This course introduces the Python programming language to developers with previous programming experience in other languages. To take full advantage of this course, participants are expected to have some knowledge of object-oriented programming and basic skills in working in a Unix/Linux environment.

Note This course is an introduction to Python, not to programming in general. Skilled developers may find self-study more appropriate. In this course you will not learn how to customize the Carmen applications using Python. See Python in Studio.

Course goals
The course gives you a thorough introduction to Python. After completing the course you will:

• be familiar with the Python language types, operators, basic statements, functions, modules, classes, exceptions and some built-in tools
• know how to use Python in the Unix environment.
